We’re back on our 7th visit!

We can’t say how much we’ve have enjoyed our visit – now mastered about 30 Greek words including ‘rabbit’ and ‘melon’!  Still finding new places to visit – try Balos Bay (by car) and the Therriso Gorge.  Thanks again for a terrific stay, and Yassou!!

Coming to the end of two beautiful weeks at The Mill.

Recommend visiting Marathi and Loutraki, about 45mins from The Mill – Marathi beach has sun beds with beach umbrellas, and the sea is shallow and clear.

Really nice tavernas in the local fishing village of Kolymbari – would recommend Edam where we found the food good and the service was lovely.  There are far nicer beaches than that at Kolyimbari, so just go for the ambience and the sunset.

What a fabulous renovation.

Weather was a bit ‘iffy’ for September, but that’s not anybodies fault.

Ventured over to Rethymno and had absolutely the best meal we’ve had in a long time in Taverna Avli in the centre of town.

Falisarna was most definitely the best beach for peace and quiet with lovely sand and fantastic snorkelling with superb doughnuts sold by the beach waiter (don’t buy ‘tourist’ snorkels and goggles, but visit the diving shop on the way to Falisarna before you reach Kissamos).

Go to the bakery in Pondikiana about 9.00am, only a short walk from The Mill, and try their delights.

As ever a lovely getaway from the usual rigours of life.  We're still finding new places to visit.  Crete as magical as ever.

Thanks again.
