Terms The property known as The Old Olive Mill ("the Property") which term shall mean the garden and swimming pool, is offered for rental subject to prior written confirmation by Stephen Bennett ("the Owner") to the renter ("the Client"). To reserve the Property, the Client should forward a 25percent deposit of the total rent due, following receipt of which the Owner will send a letter of confirmation. The balance of the rent payable shall be made not less than ten weeks before the start of the rental period. If payment is not received by the due date, the Owner reserves the right to give notice in writing that the reservation is cancelled. Reservations made within eight weeks of the start of the rental period require full payment at the time of booking. The Owner shall not be liable to the Client for any temporary defect or stoppage in the supply of public services, including electricity and/or water nor in respect of any failure of equipment, plant, machinery or appliance in or serving the Property, nor for any loss, damage or injury which is the result of matters beyond the control of the Owner, nor for any loss, damage or inconvenience caused to or suffered by the Client if the Property is destroyed or substantially damaged before the start of the rental period by fire, earthquake or other event and in any such event, the Owner shall, within seven days of notification to the Client, refund to the Client all sums previously paid in respect of the rental period. The malfunction of any item of plant or equipment serving the Property shall be immediately reported to the Owner's representative and any such defect or breakdown shall be repaired and/or replaced by the Owner as soon as is practically possible. This contract shall be governed by English law.
