Directions to the Old Olive Mill

A: Guests arriving at Hania airport
On leaving the airport follow the Hania road for about 3km to the staggered ‘T’ junction and bear right. After about 7.5km pass through Pithari and bear left at Korakies, signposted Rethymno and Souda.
At the bottom of the hill, continue through the town of Souda, and turn right at the traffic lights by the IN.KA supermarket. After about 150m, turn left at the large junction, signposted Rethymno and Kisamos. This road leads up to the New Road, and you should take the right hand slip signposted Kisamos (this junction is about 15km from the airport).

B: Hania to Tavronitis
Continue west along the New Road for about 23km, until you pass over the Tavronitis River Bridge, immediately beyond which is a road bridge over the New Road, and a right hand slip road to Tavronitis. Turn left at the ‘T’ junction at the end of the slip road, and at the junction in the village, turn left towards Kolimvari.

C: Tavronitis to The Mill
After about 1km, take the left hand road signposted Vouves 5km (this is just before the Shell Garage on the right). At the point where the old Vouves road has been bisected by the New Road, turn left, and immediately right, passing under the New Road (having past under the bridge, the road to your left is in fact a short cut to The Mill, but because of the poor visibility at this point, this is potentially a hazardous maneuver).
Continue uphill on the Vouves road, and take the left fork signposted ‘Pondikiana 3km’. Continue through the olive groves, and on entering the village, turn immediately left, almost ‘doubling back’ on yourself. The Mill will be found at the end of this 1km road (please be carefully of the animals).

D: Guests arriving at Heraklion Airport.
On leaving Heraklion airport, join the New Road heading West, signposted to Rethymno. Keep on this road for about 2Hrs, until you pass the southern boundaries of Hania, and follow directions ‘B’ and ‘C’ above.
